Scientists proved that the Japanese persimmon (Diospyros kaki Thunb.) has therapeutic properties against colorectal cancer. In this study published in the journal BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, researchers examined the mechanisms that allow the ethanol extract from the persimmon’s calyx to fight cancer.
The researchers concluded that DKC-E70 does exhibit anti-cancer benefits by inducing the degradation of cyclin D1. They support the use of DKC-E70 as a complementary and alternative treatment for colorectal cancer.
